Bernice T. (Blum) Wagenhofer

Bernice Theresa (Blum) Wagenhofer, 90, of Columbus, OH, formerly of Toronto, OH (Church Rd.) on February 3, 2018 surrounded by her children, went to be with her Lord. 

Bernice was born April 5, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a member of Our Lady of North American Martyrs Catholic Church and then St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Toronto. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Wagenhofer, parents Grace and William Blum, brothers Richard, Robert and Martin, and sister Grace Dissen, all of Pittsburgh. 

Her greatest accomplishments in her life were her ten children, fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who all survive her.  Her children are Paul (Susan), Ruth Kirkpatrick (Rex), Marie Boylan (Dennis), Ann Heckendorn (Ted), John (Kay), Ralph (Susan), Laura Bedner (Ed), Mark (Sherrie), Ken (Cindy) and Jane Schad (Paul). Also surviving are two sisters, Sister Marie Grace Blum and Vera Deven. 

Bernice enjoyed classical music, opera, playing card games, baking and cooking. Being in the kitchen was second nature to her. Bernice will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends will be received on Friday February 9 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral in Toronto, OH.  Mass will be held Saturday February 10 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Toronto. Burial will follow in Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto.
