Clarence W. 'Moe' Mozingo

December 4, 1931 ~ November 25, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Clarence W. ‘Moe’ Mozingo, 85, of Toronto, OH, passed away suddenly Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 in the ER at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

 

Moe was born Dec. 4, 1931 in Wellsburg, WV, son of the late Robert and Thressia (Stephens) Mozingo.

 

He was retired from Timet Corp. in Toronto where he was Chief Fire Inspector. He also was former co-owner of Gem City Security in Toronto.

 

Moe was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Toronto, the Toronto American Legion Post #86, V.F.W. and the Eagles. He was an avid sports fan. He loved WVU, golfing, telling stories and he was an excellent gardener and woodworker.

 

He served his country as a Sgt. in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert L. Mozingo.

 

Surviving is his wife, Erlene Faye (Gooch) Mozingo; his two daughters, Hallie (Tim) Dew of Toronto and Suzanne (David) Hawthorne of Weirton, WV; three step-children, Richard (Mary) Lawlor of Sarasota, FL, Alia Lawlor of Lakewood, OH and Jeffrey Scott Lawlor of DC; his sister, Eva Brown of Beech Bottom, WV; his sister-in-law, Betty Mozingo of Athens, WV his four grandchildren, Bill (Brittany) Kuhn, Kristy (Jeff) Dobson, Jeffrey (Brianna) Lauttamus and Stephanie Lauttamus and Freddie; his step-grandson, Andrew Martaus and nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday Nov. 28, 2017 from 4 - 8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. His funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Rinkes officiating. Burial will follow in Kadesh Chapel Cemetery in Beach Bottom, WV where Military Honors will be provided.
