Clell M. Starr, 84, of Toronto, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 05, 2015 in Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

 

Clell was born Nov. 19, 1930 in Gore, OH, son of the late Frank and Gale (Summers) Starr.

 

He was retired from Titanium Metals Corp. in Toronto where he worked in the Shipping Dept. Clell was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Toronto, a life member of the Toronto American Legion Post #86 and life member of the Toronto VFW.

 

Clell served his country in the US Navy in the Korean War.

 

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler Fan, an avid fisherman and he loved his Toronto Red Knight and Toronto American Legion Baseball.  Clell also loved watching his grandchildren in all their activities and sports.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nonie Starr who passed Feb. 6, 2009; his sisters, Madeline Dodds and Avis Hunter; his brothers, Neal and Terry Starr.

 

Clell leaves behind his five children, Robert ‘Bob’ (Donna) Starr, Dave Starr and companion Amy Dorsey, Marcita (Bill) Heckathorn, Ruth (Kevin) Blanton and Mary (Neil) Blanton all of Toronto; his seven grandchildren, Kristen (Matt) Parrish, Josh (Amanda) Starr, Amy Starr and Daryl Deringer, Heather Heckathorn and Ryan Boyd, Jake (Mallory) Blanton, Shane Blanton and Myranda Blanton; his three great-grandchildren, Karyn, Kelsey and Chase; his sisters, Rosalie  West of Elyria, OH, Marilyn (Sam) Crawford of Toronto; his brothers, Lynn (Joyce) Starr of Stratton, OH, Max Starr of Buffalo, NY and Johnnie Starr of Knoxville, OH.

 

Visitation for Clell will be held on Sunday, Feb. 8 from 2-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto, OH. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 11am at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Rinkes officiating. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery with Full Military Honors being provided by the Toronto American Legion.
