Desiderio Vallar

Desiderio Vallar, 94, of Dillonvale, OH (Piney Fork) passed away Friday April 15, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Desiderio was born Dec. 22, 1921 in Poffabro, Italy, son of the late Martino and Camilla (Canderan) Vallar.

He was a retired coal miner with Consol Coal Co.

He was a member of St. Adalbert Roman Catholic Church in Dillonvale and he loved to fix things.

In addition to his parents, Desiderio was preceded in death by his son, Michael, his great-grandson Zachary Krulcik, two brothers and three sisters.

Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Lidia (Roman) Vallar, whom he married on June 13, 1950; his daughter, Mara (Ken) Krulcik of Dillonvale; three grandchildren, Eric (Alexis) Krulcik of Cincinnati, OH, Tera Tweedlie of Wintersville, OH and Elizabeth Krulcik of Portland, OR; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Krulcik of Columbus, OH, Samuel and Anna Krulcik of Cincinnati, OH and Isabella Krulcik of Dillonvale.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care that was provided by Charity Hospice and a special thank-you to his caregivers Sandy, Becky & Kathleen.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 10 am at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale. Msgr. John Kolesar will celebrate the Mass and burial will be privately held in Northern Cemetery in Smithfield, OH.
