James L. Doran

James L. Doran, 79, of Toronto, OH, passed away peacefully, Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, surrounded by his family at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Jim was born March 7, 1935 in Toronto, OH, son of the late J. Donald and Lois Cusick Doran.

He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Toronto, Ohio Post office, where he worked for many years. He was a member of St. Peters Roman Catholic Church in Steubenville and was a 1953 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School.

Jim also served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1958.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Victoria “Vickie” Tridico Doran, who passed away on Nov. 16, 2005 and by two brothers Richard and Gerald Doran.

Surviving are his children, Julie Doran of Hilliard, OH and Stephen Doran of Toronto; his brother R. Douglas (Linda) Doran of Manheim, Pa; his six sisters, Charmaine Core and Virginia (Art) Myers all of Toronto, Donna (David) Schultz of Steubenville, OH, Kathleen Morabeto of Grove City, OH, Marjorie Sewasky of Monaca, PA, Juanita Patterson of Sicklerville, NJ; sister-in-law Catherine Doran of Steubenville and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass in Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Tuesday Sept. 23, 2014 at 10 am at St. Peter Catholic Church in Steubenville, OH. Father Jonas Shell will celebrate his Memorial Mass.
