James L. ‘Jim’ Pollack, 83, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 in the Sunrise Senior Living Center of Upper St. Clair.
Jim was born January 29, 1932 in Dillonvale, OH, son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Pollack.
He was retired from the Ohio Dept. of Transportation where he worked as an Assistant Director. Jim was a member of the Piney Fork American Legion Post #529. He was a Smithfield Twp. Trustee for many years, Catholic by faith and served in the Naval Reserves.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Ann (Pazzoni) Pollack.
Jim leaves behind his daughter, Lori J. Pollack of Pittsburgh; his brother, Charles (Marlene) Pollack of Smithfield; sister-in-law, Jean Kuprowicz of Finleyville, PA; his four nieces and his loyal companions, Lady, Boo Boo and Gigi.
Jim’s family will receive friends on Thursday, January 21 from 2-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH. Jim’s Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 22 at 10 am at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale, OH. Msgr. John Kolesar will celebrate the Mass and burial will follow in Northern Cemetery in Smithfield.
Additional visitation will be held in the rear of the church Friday morning from 9 am til time of Mass. Vigil services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 4:30pm. The Piney Fork American Legion will have a service Thursday evening at 7pm at the funeral home.
