Katherine Eileen (Conrad) Scheel

Katherine Eileen (Conrad) Scheel, 81, of Stratton, OH, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

Eileen was born October 2, 1934 in Stratton, daughter of the late Joseph and Amanda (Harris) Conrad.

She was a member of the Bell Chapel UMC in Pleasant Hill where she was an organist for many years. Eileen was also an organist at the Stratton Nazarene Church.

Eileen was retired from the Jefferson County Health Dept. where she worked as a TB Clerk and in Vital Records. She also worked at the former Carolyn’s Hallmark in Toronto.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Mandi Welday who passed in 2011.

Eileen leaves behind her husband, William D. ‘Bill’ Scheel of Stratton, whom she married Feb. 16, 1953; her four daughters, Judy (Andy) Bender of Uniontown, OH, Patti Kelley and Kathy Scheel both of Stratton and Debra (Gale) Parsons of Hammondsville, OH; her son, Bill (Penny) Scheel of Toronto, OH. Eileen is also survived by her eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.

Visitation for Eileen will be held on Friday, Nov. 27 from 1-4 and 6-9 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, where her funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 pm. Rev. Jeff Proya will officiate the service and burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Toronto.
