Kenneth Scott Ray, 81, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday Oct. 20, 2015 in Trinity Medical Center in Steubenville, OH.
Kenny was born April 11, 1934 in Stratton, OH, son of the late Winfield and Laura McCallister Ray.
Kenny retired from the U.S. Postal service in 1989 after 34 years of service. He was known to many as ‘Kenny the mailman.’ After his retirement, Kenny became part of the staff at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, where he was a dedicated employee for 16 years until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, a 1952 graduate of Toronto High School and he was a U.S. Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his two brothers, Winfield and Robert and his sister, Mary Margaret.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Evelyn (Augustinovicz) Ray, whom he married on Oct. 19, 1963; his daughter, Lynn (Ron) Zamberlan of Steubenville; his son, Scott R. Ray of Charlotte, NC and by ‘his Angel’ Kenzie Marie Zamberlan of Steubenville.
Visitation for Kenny will be held on Thursday Oct. 22, 2015 from 4-7 pm at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. Additional visitation will be held on Friday morning from 9 - 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 am at St. Francis Church on Findley St. in Toronto. Father Thomas Vennitti will celebrate the Mass and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Toronto American Legion Post # 86.
