Patsy Bernabei Obituary

Patsy A. Bernabei, 77, of Toronto, OH, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 in the Acuity Specialty Hospital in Weirton, WV.

 

Patsy was born March 24, 1940 in Weirton, WV, son of the late Anthony and Mary (Fabian) Bernabei.

 

He was retired from the Weirton Steel Corp. where he worked in the Blast Furnace. After retirement Patsy became a delivery driver for both Tri-State and Follansbee Pharmacy.

 

Patsy was a Veteran of the US Army. He was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto and the Weirton VFW. He was an avid bowler in both Toronto and Weirton.

 

In addition to his parents, Patsy was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Angelo Bernabei, his sister, Angela Bernabei and his daughter, Sally Keenan Chester.

 

Patsy leaves behind his wife, Marie (Hughes) Keenan Bernabei whom he married Feb. 1, 1974; his daughters, Ann (Buzzy) Cattrell, Marie (Chuck Thompson) Lamatrice, Karen (Bob) Kremer, Jane (Larry) Fry; his sons, Jim (Jeanine) Keenan, Shawn Keenan and Pat  (Heidi) Keenan; his son-in-law, Kevin Chester; his sister-in-law, Nancy Bernabei; his grandchildren, Kelli (Mike) Chester Nardis, Katie (Josh) Chester Lasota, Erin (Chad) Chester Walter, Maria Chester, Steven (Nancy) Cattrell, Shanna Cattrell, Christopher Lamatrice, Andrea (Kevin) Lamatrice Strosnider, Jeff (Carla) Kremer, Rob (Molly) Kremer, Kari (Josh) Kremer George, Doug Kremer, Zach (Rachel) Fry, Jayla Fry, Joanna (Bruce) Keenan, Brian Keenan, Shawn Keenan, Nathan Keenan and Nolan Keenan; his great-grandchildren, Clara and Anna Nardis, Emily, Elise and Ethan Lasota, Lincoln Walter, Ariana Wik, Amelia Cattrell, Kelsey and Austin Kremer, Landyn, Morgan and Hunter Strosnider and Gavin Haechler; nieces, Paula Cordray, Patti Robinson and Joanna Bernabei-McNamee and nephew, JJ Bernabei and many more nieces and nephews.

 

Family and friends will be received on Friday, Jan. 26 from 3-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Patsy’s Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Saturday at 11 am at St. Francis Church in Toronto. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate the Mass and Full Military Honors will be given following Mass by the Toronto American Legion Post #86.

 

Additional visitation will take place Saturday in the rear of the church from 10:15 am til time of the Mass. A Vigil Service will be held Friday at 3 pm at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church basement.
