Robert Andrew Cichon, Sr., 76, of Piney Fork, OH, passed away Friday May 12, 2017 in Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV.
He was born Oct. 3, 1940 in Piney Fork, OH, son of the late Andrew and Mary (Dragosz) Cichon.
Bob was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mingo Jct. Plant, where he was a clerical worker in the Railroad Dept.
He was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale, OH and the Pine Valley Sportsman’s Club.
Bob was an avid hunter & fisherman and loved gardening. He had a special talent for playing the accordion. He loved playing for his family.
The joy of his life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Jablonski and Wanda Smith and two brothers, Carl Cihon and Walter Cichon.
Surviving is his wife, Theresa (Barbarossa) Cichon; his two sons, Robert Andrew (LeeAnn) Cichon of Brunswick, OH and Anthony (Heidi) Cichon of Rittman, OH; his daughter, Angela Cichon of Columbus, OH; his five grandchildren, Kaitlin, Lexie, Hunter, Kylie & Alyssa; his brother, Henry (Evelyn) Cichon of Adena, OH, and his two sisters, Antoinette Baumgartner of Oregon, OH and Mary Agnes (Richard) Francisco of Las Vegas, NV.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday May 16, 2017 from 4 - 8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH. Wednesday morning there will be visitation at the funeral home from 9 - 9:30 am followed by his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 am at St. Adalbert’s Church in Dillonvale, OH. Msgr. John Kolesar will celebrate Bob’s Mass and burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, OH.
There will be a Vigil Service Tuesday at the funeral home at 7:30 pm. Condolences may be offered to Bob’s family on our website www.jefosterfh.com.
