Thomas W. Day, 83, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 in the Trinity Med. Center West in Steubenville, OH.
Tom was born Sept. 3, 1934 in Dilles Bottom, OH, son of the late Ward and Wilda (Piper) Day.
He retired from the First Energy Corp. in 1998 where he worked as a Control Room Operator at the Sammis Plant.
Tom was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church. He had a love of gardening and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Satkowski who passed in 2013, two brothers, Walter Day and Donald Powell and his sister, Louise Hranko.
Tom leaves behind his wife, Loretta J. (Wise) Day, whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage this year having wed Jan. 6, 1957; his daughter, Nancy (Bill) Scott and his son-in-law, John Satkowski, both of Toronto; his four grandchildren, Brandon (Jess) Scott of Toronto, Deanna (Zachary) Campbell of Westminster, CO, Devon Satkowksi of Toronto and Bryce Satkowski of Columbus, OH; one great-grandchild, Keegan Scott and his brother, Robert W. (Camille) Day of Wintersville, OH.
A memorial service for Tom will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 11 am at the Bell Chapel UMC in Pleasant Hill. There will be an hour of memorial visitation at the church from 10 am til time of the service. Rev. Jeff Proya will officiate the service and his burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
