Wayne L. Henderson

Wayne L. Henderson, 95, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in the Orchards at Foxcrest Nursing Facility in Chester, WV.

Wayne was born, April 4, 1920 in Hopedale, OH, son of the late Ross and Emma Grace Levengood.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he worked as an Instrument Test Repairman.  Wayne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Toronto, and the Unionport Masonic Lodge. He was an honorary member of the Toronto Masonic Lodge #583 F&AM and he was avid bowler.

Wayne was a Veteran of the US Navy having served his country in WWII.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Henderson and his half-brother, Everett Henderson.

Wayne leaves behind his wife, Jean (Grindle) Henderson whom he married Dec. 10, 1946; his two daughters, Janet E. Blaschak of East Liverpool, OH and Brenda K. Cottrell of Toronto; his four grandchildren, Kim (Gary) Cook, David (Tracy) Jones, Todd (Lisa) Cottrell and Kristina Blaschak; five great-grandchildren, Sierra Jones, Emma Cottrell, Damien Jones, Kennedy Cottrell and Jacob Todd Cottrell.

Visitation for Wayne will be held on Sunday, May 17 from 1-3 & 5-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH, where his funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 pm. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate the service and his burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. There will be Masonic Services Sunday evening at the funeral home at 6:30 pm and also Military Graveside Honors will be presented by the Toronto American Legion Post#86 at the cemetery on Monday.
