William C. 'Bill' Rebres

William C. ‘Bill’ Rebres, 82, of Toronto, OH, passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.

Bill was born April 28, 1935 in Toronto, son of the late Leslie and Susan (Hanas) Rebres.

He was a retired custodian and bus driver for Toronto City School District with 40 years of service. Bill was a 1953 graduate of Toronto High School and a Veteran of the US Army.

Bill was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. He was an active member of the Toronto Lions Club where he was Past President and years ago he was a member of the Toronto Racing Pigeon Club.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Andrew, Les, George, John, James and Robert.

Bill leaves behind his wife, Rosemary J. (Tarulli) Rebres whom he married Oct. 7, 1961; his son, Paul William Rebres of Toronto; his daughter, Gail Suzanne (Trevor) Nickerson of Wheeling, WV and his sister, Pauline Rebres O’Hara of Steubenville, OH. He cherished time spent with his five grandchildren, Alexandria and Kylie Parker, Will and Devyn Nickerson and Blake Rebres.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Feb. 21 from 3 – 7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Additional viewing will be held on Thursday morning at the funeral home from 9 am til 9:30 am followed by his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 am at St. Francis Church. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate the Mass and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Toronto Lions Club or the American Lung Association.
