William J. 'Bill' Romey

William J. ‘Bill’ Romey 88, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday July 1, 2015 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

Bill was born June 21, 1927 in Toronto, son of the late Michael and Jean Olybrsch Romey.

Bill was retired from Timet-Titanium Metals Corp. in Toronto, where he worked as a scheduler. After retirement, Bill worked at the Toronto Post Office.

He was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto and the Toronto American Legion Post #86.

Bill was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. having served in both WWII and the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister Irene Tenney and his brother Michael Romey.

Surviving is his wife, Virginia ‘Ginger’ (Gaffney) Romey, whom he married on Oct. 26, 1950; his daughter, Cindy Romey of CA; four sons, William (Suzanne) Romey of NC, Stephen (Bernadette) Romey of Toronto, Terry (Pam) Romey and Cris Romey both of CA; her daughter-in-law, Jane Romey of Toledo, OH; two sisters, Jeannie (Ed) Fingers and Jackie (Jim) Maple both of Toronto; 5 grandchildren, Dr. Merideth (Dr. Aaron) Parry of Charleston WV, Mike (Michelle) Romey of Toronto, T.J. Romey of OR, Liz Romey and Giordan Romey both of Toledo; 4 great grandchildren, Isabella and Penelope Romey and Zoe and Rock Parry.

Following Bill’s wishes he will be cremated. Burial will be at the convenience of his family.
