Christopher A. Martin, better known as “Manute”, of Richmond, OH, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 8, 2024, in the Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV.
Chris was born July 12, 1971, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Bob Martin and Pamela (Keenan) Lucas, who survives. In addition to his father, Chris was also preceded in death by niece Ashton McEwan and nephew Hunter Martin.
Chris worked as a carpenter for Rob Clark Construction. He was a 1990 graduate of Stanton High School.
Chris’ passion for music started at an early age. He got his first guitar when he was just 4 years old. He loved to write his own music and he was also an artist and a professional painter. When he wasn’t making music, he could be found drawing and sketching anything that came to mind, but he most enjoyed drawing cartoon characters and skulls. Chris also had a love for animals, all of God’s creatures, and the game of golf.
Chris leaves behind his mom, Pam (Kris) Lucas of Wintersville; his daughter, Mikayla (Austin) Matthews of Toronto, who he was so proud of and is currently out of the country studying at Ross University in the Caribbean to become a Veterinarian; two sisters, Nicole (Paul) McCarthy of Wellsville, and Diamond (Jason) Sayers of Toronto; his fiancé, Angie Locke; many aunts and uncles and his nieces and nephews, Lacey, Noah, Emma, JJ, Ive, and Ruby.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 13 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Chris’ burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family to help offset some expenses due to his sudden passing.
