Alice I. Deemer, 81, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 in the Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV. Finally, she was reunited with Jesus and her husband.
Alice was born Jan. 3, 1938 in Apollo, PA, daughter of the late Wray and Mabel (Ross) Bodenhorn.
She was a retired Prudential Financial Advisor working for Prudential Financial Services. Alice was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Toronto, the Toronto Red Hats and she was the former co-owner of Gem City Video, with her late husband, Tom. Her claim to fame was working at Bell Aerospace, in Niagra Falls, supplying the engines to the Apollo 11 Mission that would lift it off the moon and return it home.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Deemer who passed Feb. 23, 2017; her sister, Darlene Frank and her sister-in-law, Ruth (Jim) Schall.
Alice leaves behind her son, Timothy (Sue) Deemer and her daughter, Laurie (Albert) Hoffman, both of Toronto; her grandchildren, Nathan, Chelsea and Robbie and her great-grandchildren, Emma, Wyatt and Lilly.
Family and friend will be received Tuesday, October 22 from 11 am til the time of her funeral service at 2 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Toronto. Pastor Susan Clegg will officiate and her burial will be held at the convenience of her family in the Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto. A luncheon will follow the service in the basement of the church.
