Ancil Eugene ‘Gene’ Crothers, 79, of Adena, OH, passed away suddenly Monday, December 2, 2019 in the Trinity Medical Center West ER in Steubenville, OH.
Gene was born Oct. 27, 1940 in York, OH, son of the late Howard and Nell (Swiger) Crothers.
He was retired from the Weirton Steel Corp. with 35 years of service in the coke plant.
Gene was a lifetime member of the Pine Valley Sportsmen’s Club, the Goldwings and he was an avid motorcycle rider all his life.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his son, Ancil Terry Crothers, grandson Ancil Cole Crothers and two brothers Jack and Roger Crothers.
Surviving is his wife Dianna L. (Lime) Crothers; two daughters, Tracy Crothers of Mingo Junction, OH and Laurie (Ted) Boyd of Smithfield, OH; two stepsons, Richard W. (Peggy) Hren and Joseph L. Hren both of NC; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
