Brenda Lee (Reese) VanDine, 79, of Empire, OH, went to her Heavenly home on April 4, 2019. She was surrounded by her loving family, prayers, songs and stories.
Brenda was born June 23, 1939 in Empire, daughter of the late Harry, Sr. and Dorothy (Keenan) Reese.
She was a member of the Empire United Methodist Church and Christian by faith. Brenda worked as a clerk in the Quality Shop in Toronto, she also worked for her brother, Wendell Reese, as a secretary at Reese Mobile Homes and she was a cashier at the Calcutta Wal-Mart.
More than anything Brenda loved her family. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She never met a stranger and her generosity knew no bounds.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. ‘Dick’ VanDine in 2011; her brothers, Harry A. Reese, Jr., John K. Reese, and Terry A. Reese; two sisters, Nancy Reese Desper and Amy Reese Russell.
Brenda leaves behind her son, Clint (Kim) VanDine of Sheffield Village, OH; her two daughters, Connie (Elmer) Tice of Empire and Jodi (Ken) Bartlett of Bloomingdale, OH; her brother, Wendell Reese of Empire; her sister, Cindy (Sam) Douglass of St. Clairsville, OH; her five grandchildren, Ian (Rhonda) Tice, Madison, Allison and Zander Van Dine and Abel Bartlett; many nieces and nephews and special lifetime friends, Jim and Mary Sprouse of Lisbon, OH.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, April 9 from 4 – 8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto where her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 am. Darrin Scott will officiate and burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Toronto.
