Cheryl D. (Layne) Schrader

Cheryl D. Schrader, 66 of Wintersville, OH, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.

Cheryl was born Jan. 23, 1953 in Steubenville, daughter of the late Roy R. and Marion (Dennis) Layne.

She retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel with 38 years in the Clerical Dept. Cheryl was presently employed as a dispatcher with Kenan Advantage in Bloomingdale, OH. She was Christian by faith and a member of Primetime.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Schrader in 1987 and an infant brother, Larry E. Layne.

Cheryl leaves behind her son, Jason (Yasuko) Schrader and two grandsons, Marcus and Colin Schrader all from Sasebo Nagasaki, Japan; her sister, Joyce (Dale) Hatfield of Rayland, OH; nephew, Dale (Jamie) Hatfield of New Straitsville, OH; niece, Angela (Joe) Harris of Westerville, OH; two great-nephews, James & Nicholas Harris and great-niece, Courtney Harris and her special daughter, Shannon Sweeney of New Orleans, LA.

Family and friends will be received Monday, March 18 from 4 - 8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Wilford Simeral officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
