George H. Gossage, 90, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.
George was born May 3, 1928 in Lenoir City, TN, son of the late Edward and Cora (Dalton) Gossage.
He was a retired electrician with the IBEW. George also was a Veteran of the US Army having served his country in the Korean War. His memberships included the Toronto American Legion Post #86 and the Toronto Fraternal Order of Eagles.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mae (Hall) Gossage, four brothers, Paul, Bob, John and Joe and two sisters, Iva and Grace.
George leaves behind his son, Darrell (Sandy) Gossage of Weirton, WV; his two daughters, Debbie (Rick) Bailey of Toronto and Denise Gossage of Westerville, OH; his six grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Darci, Abby, Shannon and Ashley and five great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, Nov. 18 from 2 – 5 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto where his funeral will be held Monday at 11 am. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate and burial will follow in Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto.
Military Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Toronto American Legion and memorial donations may be directed to the Jefferson Co. Humane Society.
