Harvey was a wonderful husband to Darlene for 40 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was most proud of walking his 4 daughters down the aisle when they were married. Throughout his life, Harvey was a major sports fan. He graduated from Jefferson Union High School in 1955 and was a center on the football team. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Pirate Fan.

Harvey was an incredible worker, in addition to working at the Toronto Paper Board he also ran a cattle farm and logged with his brother Rob. After retiring, Harvey was a regular at Bob Evans for breakfast and was part of a group that walked the mall regularly.

Harvey was a wonderful leader of his family and will be missed by all of them. He always told his family he was proud of them all and was honored to spend time with each of them.

In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene (Taggart) Hilderbrand who passed in 1996, his brother Rob Hilderbrand and his sister Goldie Smith.
