James O. Gray

James O. Gray, 79, of Rayland, OH, passed away at his home Monday May 1, 2017.

Jim was born Aug. 30, 1937 in Mingo Jct., OH, son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Fithen) Gray.

Jim worked for many years at the former Harmony Industries in Mingo until it closed. He retired from Industrial Consulting Service in Steubenville, OH.

He was a member of the Plum Run Church of Christ in Christian Union. Jim loved fishing, hunting and family.  In 1974 he was named Steel Worker of the year.

Jim served his country in the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and John Gray and by his daughter-in-law, Gloria Gray.

Surviving is his wife, Margie M. (Pasco) Gray; his two sons, James O. (Rose) Gray, Jr. and Todd (Donna) Gray both of Rayland, OH; four grandchildren, Melissa (Chip) Grimm, Elizabeth (Chris) Basich, Ashley and Emily Gray; five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Debi and Taylor Grimm and Carson Basich; his three sisters, Catherine ‘Betsy’ Ogden of Dillonvale, OH, Janet (Richard) Kimble of Rayland and Doris ‘Jeanie’ Pasco of Smithfield, OH; his sister-in-law, Nancy Gray of Youngstown, OH.

Visitation will be held on Thursday May 4, 2017 from 3 - 8pm at the Rush Run Church of Christ. Jim’s funeral service will be held at the church in Rush Run on Friday at 1:30 pm. Pastor Roger Wayne will officiate and burial will follow in New Alexandria Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Piney Fork American Legion.
