Keith Gooch, 62, of Toronto, OH, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, after a 15-month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born June 2, 1956 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late John ‘Bill’ Gooch and Rosemary Perun Gooch.
Keith was employed, with almost 45 years of service, at Titanium Metals Corp. in Toronto. He also served the City of Toronto, as a Volunteer Firefighter for 29 years, before his retirement from the department. He was Catholic by faith.
Keith was an avid Mopar car enthusiast. He loved showing, drag racing and restoring Mopars. His latest car restoration earned its way into the August 2018 edition of the Mopar Collector’s Guide. He was also a member of different Mopar car clubs throughout the years.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 32 years, and caregiver, Mary Fullerton Gooch; two sons, Cory (fiancé Kendra) Gooch and Matthew (Jennifer) Gooch, both of Toronto; one daughter, Kayla (fiancé Paul) Gooch of Midland, PA, and one grandson, who he adored, Brayden Gooch; one brother, John (Nancy) Gooch; one sister, Mickey (Shaun) Libetti, both of Toronto; three nephews and their families; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kathy and Walter Fullerton of Toronto and many good friends.
Visitation will be at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto on Friday April 19, 2019 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm and again on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 11 am until time of his service at 12 noon. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will officiate.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rahman, Tony Teramana Cancer Center, Valley Hospice, their staff and nurses, for the wonderful care he received. They would also like to thank all their family and friends, for the many prayers, phone calls, cards and support, throughout this difficult time. May God bless each and every one.
