Marian A. Baker

Born on Nov. 22, 1939, one of a family of six siblings. She grew up in Toronto, OH, later residing in San Diego, CA and then in Clyde, OH. Her later years were spent in Longport, NJ, where she lived and volunteered at the Longport Gospel Hall Home for the Aged for about ten years.

Subsequently, she was transferred to the Lutheran Home in Ocean View, NJ where she continued to reside for the next ten years. Over the next four years, Marian’s health progressively degraded as time was spent in other nursing facilities, until it became apparent that the Genesis Health Facility Cooper River West best provided superior, loving care. From here she passed on to a vastly superior Home where tears will be a thing of the past as she has met her Savior to enjoy His eternal presence.

Before Marian became constrained to remain in a wheel chair, she fellowshipped with us in the Pennsauken Gospel Hall Assembly. Both then and in later years, those who came to know her recall her warm smile, words of appreciation for visiting her and, not the least, her pithy, witty jokes and riddles.

But Marian would wish that all of her friends and contacts might know that the defining moment of her life was when she trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. This would be her greatest wish for you!

A graveside service for Marian will be held on Friday, Sept. 28 at 10am at Sugar Grove Union Cemetery in Toronto. Bob Peckens from the Gospel Hall in Steubenville will preside over the service. Arrangements for Marian are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto.
