Marilyn Sue (Starr) Crawford, 80, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.
Marilyn was born June 17, 1937 in Gore, OH, daughter of the late Frank and Gale (Summers) Starr.
She was a custodian 30 plus years at the First Presbyterian Church in Toronto. In her early years, Marilyn worked at the former G.C. Murphy Co. Store in Toronto.
Marilyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Toronto, the Mary Martha Sunday School Class, and she was a member of the Toronto Bowling League where she was Past President. She loved to make her cream horns for everyone, baking her pies and watching parades all over the valley.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her two sisters, Madeline Dodds and Avis Hunter and her three brothers, Neal, Terry and Clell Starr.
Marilyn leaves behind her husband, Samuel ‘Sam’ Crawford whom she married Nov.24, 1960; her sister, Rosalie West of Elyria, OH; her three brothers, Lynn (Joyce) Starr of Stratton, OH, Max Starr of NY and Johnnie Starr of Toronto and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 1 to 4 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Her funeral service will be held at 4 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Rinkes officiating. Her burial will be held at the convenience of her family in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
