Mary E. (Nightingale) Workman, 89, of Blacklick, OH, formerly of Irondale, OH, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 in Westerville, OH.


Mary was born Dec. 31, 1928 in Irondale, daughter of the late Carl and Sarah Stella (Ridgley) Nightingale.


She was a member of the New Somerset United Methodist Church and she taught Sunday School at the New Somerset Christian Church. Mary was a part of the Willing Workers and she loved singing and eating her Oreo cookies.


Mary also was a Fair Director for 10 years with the Jeff. Co. Fair Board. She was active in 4-H and she was a member of the Eastern Star Toronto Chapter #215.


In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Bruce ‘Bus’ Workman who passed in Feb. of 2012, her son, David B. Workman and three brothers, Jack, James and Carl.


Mary leaves behind her two grandchildren, Brian Workman of Blacklick and Brianna Workman of Reynoldsburg, OH; her brother, William ‘Bill’ (Joyce) Nightingale of GA and her three great-grandchildren, Wesley Workman and Dean Renico both of Reynoldsburg and Eva Riggenbach of Worthington, OH.


Family and friends will be received Friday, August 17 from 4-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Frank Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Hammondsville Cemetery in Hammondsville, OH. There will be an Eastern Star service Friday evening at 7:30 pm.
