Opal Mae Anderson, 77, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Thursday March 7, 2019 in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.
Opal was born May 23, 1941 in Irondale, OH, daughter of the late Harold and Ellen (Henthorn) Dalrymple.
She was retired from Trinity School of Nursing, where she served as a Housemother for the school. Opal was a member of the Yahwah Apostolic Ministries in Smithfield.
In addition to her parents, Opal was preceded in death by her husband, William ‘Perry’ Anderson in 1998 and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her children, Perry W. Anderson of Smithfield, Faye (Henry) Verhovec of Rayland, OH, Darlene (Keith) McCleary of Bloomingdale, OH, Debora (Charles) Moon of Rayland, John A. Anderson of Smithfield and Charles D. Anderson of Wintersville, OH; her sister, Susan Joy of Wellsville, OH; her two brothers, David (Marlene) Dalrymple and Don (Diane) Dalrymple both of E. Liverpool, OH; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday March 11, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield where her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am. Additional visitation will take place from 10 am til time of her service. Her son, Pastor John Anderson, will officiate and burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, OH.
