Raymond A. Zorbini, 70, passed away Wednesday morning May 30, 2018 in the Trinity Medical Center West ER in Steubenville, OH.
Ray was born Jan. 4, 1948 in Steubenville, son of the late Alighieri and Anna (Kuczynski) Zorbini.
He was retired from Weirton-Steel where he worked as a crane operator in the BOP. He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. Ray was also a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto.
Ray was a Veteran of the US Army having served his country during Vietnam. He was a member of the Toronto American Legion Post #86 where he had been the Finance Officer until recently being elected as the Post Commander.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Zorbini, an infant daughter Catherine and his granddaughter, Angela.
Ray leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Susan M. (Pavia) Zorbini, whom he married April 12, 1969; his son, Brian Zorbini of Weirton, WV; his sister, Christine (Jim) Funk of Carrollton, OH; his two grandchildren, Anthony and Madeline Zorbini.
Family and friends will be received Friday, June 1 from 4-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. There will be additional viewing Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9 am – 9:45 am followed by his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 am at St. Francis Church in Toronto. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate and his burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
The Toronto American Legion Post will hold their service Friday evening at 6:45 pm and will also provide Military Graveside Honors for Ray at the cemetery on Saturday.
