Ronald W. Poludniak, 86, formerly of Piney Fork, OH, passed away Nov. 18, 2018 in Florida.
Ron was born Dec. 14, 1931 in Piney Fork, son of the late Walter F. and Mary (Evancyk) Poludniak.
He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. in Mingo Jct., OH, where he was an Engineer. Ron was a Veteran of the US Air Force having served in the Korean War. He was Catholic by faith and a member of the Piney Fork American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Estherine (Sebastian) Poludniak, daughter Loralie K. Poludniak, sister Wanda Derringer and brother Edwin.
Ron leaves behind two daughters, Valerie (Christopher) Harmon of Land O’Lakes, FL and Melanie (Thomas) Schwer of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, Donna (Anthony) Bell, Alexis (Daniel) Perrone, Jacklynn McMillen and Jimmy and Adam Schwer and three great-grandchildren, Kenley, Sloane and Vincent.
Friends will be received Saturday, Dec. 8 from 11 am til the time of his funeral service at 1 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH. Rev. Wilford Simeral will officiate and the Piney Fork American Legion will provide military honors at the funeral home. Private burial will follow in New Alexandria Cemetery.
