William E. ‘Bill’ Duvall, 85, of Rayland, OH, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, June 18, 2018 in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Bill was born July 26, 1932 in Bellaire, OH, son of the late William E. and Rose (Lucas) Duvall.
He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. with 44 years of service as a Locomotive Engineer. Bill was a Veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War, serving aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Randolph, CVA-15.
Bill’s memberships include: Plum Run Church of Christ in Christian Union Church, the Bellaire American Legion Post#52 for 57 years, life member of the Yorkville VFW Post #4811, the Korean War Veterans Assoc., the Jefferson Co. Veterans Assoc. and the Penn. Railroad Technical Historical Society.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta (Kackley) Duvall, who passed away on Nov. 12, 2008; two sisters, Sara Schlernitzauer and Kathryn Howard.
Surviving are his two sons, Daniel E. (Colleen) Duvall of Elizabethtown, KY and Robert E. (Sherry) Duvall of Bloomingdale, OH; two grandchildren, Michael Duvall of Killeen, TX and Danielle Duvall of Elizabethtown, KY; his brothers-in-law, Paul Howard of Charleston, WV, John Kackley of Rayland, OH and Richard Kackley of Rockbridge, OH; his sisters-in-law Bertha Kleineke of Rayland and Margaret ‘Peg’ Decker of Rayland and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 20, 2018 from 4 - 8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the Plum Run CCCU Church 200 Twp. Rd. 151 Rayland, OH 43943. Pastor Roger Wayne will officiate his service and burial will follow in Belmont Memorial Park in St. Clairsville, OH
