Alfred E. The Governor Montgomery, Sr., 78, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

Al was born July 15, 1941 in Toronto, son of the late William Okie and Anna (Wells) Montgomery.

He was a retired truck driver with the Teamsters Local #92 in Steubenville. Al loved to junk and play cards.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by an infant daughter Brenda, five brothers, Leonard Pud, Homer, Virgil, Charles Buck and William Montgomery and four sisters, Anna Jean Kurtz, Olive Nolan, Ruth Carson and Maple Evans.

Al leaves behind his wife, Carol H. (Rutan) Montgomery, whom he married July 8, 1963; his son, Alfred E. Joe Montgomery and wife, Sandra Marie of Toronto; his daughter, Tammy and husband Roger Roth of Toronto; three sisters, Darlene Durch, Mary Lou Sigman and Grace Carrico all of Warren, OH; one brother, Wilford Frank Montgomery of TX and two grandchildren, Justin Eugene Montgomery and Rebecca Lynn Montgomery.

Family and friends will be received Saturday, Dec. 14 from 12 noon to 4 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. His funeral service will be held at 4 pm with Rev. John Westling officiating.
