Alma J. (Andrews) Cortez, 92, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Saturday, October 01, 2011 at her son's home with her close family by her side as she had wished.Alma was born on December 14, 1918 in Mingo Jct., OH, daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Murtland) Andrews.Alma was a member of the former St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Steubenville, OH.In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Cortez; her granddaughter Kristina Cortez White; four sisters, Marge Pinti, Lois Myers, Cleda Archangel, and Sandy Andrews; one brother, Wesley Andrews.Alma is survived by her three sons, Guy T. Cortez, Richard J. (Elizabeth) Cortez both of Steubenville, OH and David W. (Marilyn) Cortez of Reynoldsburg, OH; her two grandchildren, John (Amy) Cortez and David E. Cortez. Alma is also survived by her 4 great-grandchildren, Ariel and Jonathan Cortez, Jordan Quinn and Zachary Burch.Close friends and family are invited to attend Alma's Committal Service being held on Monday, October 3 at 2pm at the Chapel in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Entombment will follow Alma's service.
