Alva O. "Bud" Ford 78 Of Toronto, Ohio died Sat. March 13, 2004 in Weirton Medical Center. Bud was born Aug. 8, 1925 in Doddridge Co., W.Va., son of the late Alvy A. and Bertha May Stout Ford. Bud was a retired employee of Weirton Steel Corp., Electrical Dept. working there for 32 years. Bud attended the North River Ave. Church of Christ in Toronto, was a U.S. Navy Veteran of W.W.II, was a member of the LST Association, The Toronto American Legion Post # 86, was a Life Member of the Toronto V. F. W. Post #6906, A member of the Toronto Masonic Lodge # 583 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, Aladdin Shrine of Columbus, Ohio, was Past President of the Shrine Club of Steubenville, Past President of the Shriner's Motor Patrol, the Royal Order of Jesters Court # 8 in Columbus, Ohio, and the Weirton Steel 25 yr. Club. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by; ( 4 ) sisters; Elmina Gaston, Sarah Jane Gaskin, Ellen Gaston, and Garnet Swallop. ( 2 ) brothers, Emery "Bill " Ford and Useba "Cebe " Ford. Bud is survived by: His wife, Frances ( Lewis ) Ford, who he married on April 28, 1961. One Son; Alva O. (Evelyn) Ford Jr. of Salem, W. Va., One Daughter; Charlotte Savina of Clarksburg, W.Va., Two Step-Daughters; Jacqueline (Kenneth ) Gorney and Carol ( John ) Ghenne all of Toronto, Two Step-Sons; Valgene "Butch " (Nora ) King and Mark ( Becky ) King all of Toronto. One Brother; Austin "Kim " ( Jean ) Ford Salem, W.Va., and Two Sisters; Betty ( Kenneth ) Merritt of Harrisville, W.Va., and Louetta ( Max ) Morgan of Goldsboro, N.C. 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Friends and Family may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7 -9 pm. At the J. E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc. 701 Findley St. Toronto; where services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Pastor Robert Hanze will officiate and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. V.F.W. Post #6906 and American Legion Post # 86 Service will be Tuesday Evening at 7:00 pm.
