Obituary

Alvin Stephen Sonny Todd, 85, of Toronto, OH, passed away at 12:18 am on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in the LifeLine Hospital, Wintersville, OH.

He was born August 23, 1929 in Aliquippa, PA, son of the late Thomas F. and Marian Ruth Brantner Todd. He was a graduate of Mingo High School.

Todd is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nada Gesheff Todd and his four daughters, Susy and her husband, Rob Eft of Steubenville, OH, and their sons, David (Abbi) Eft and Steve (Leah) Eft; Sandy and her husband Tom Rollo of Steubenville and their daughters, Jennifer Rollo (Art) Groscost, Crissy Bostic (Beau) Rowley, Carrie Rollo and Julie Rollo; Sherry Ullom of Akron, OH and her ex-spouse Hank Ullom and their sons, Lucas and Marcus Ullom; Shirley and her husband David Clegg and their son, Todd Clegg and daughter, Lauren Clegg Waggoner; five great-grandchildren, Delaney Groscost, Maddison Rowley, Jaime Rowley, Tommy Rowley and Clegg Lucas Waggoner.

In addition to his parents, Todd was preceded in death by his twin brother Allen Charles Todd and half-brother Dr. Thomas Todd, Jr. of Aliquippa.

He retired from the Ohio Edison Power Plant in Toronto on Sept. 1, 1991 and he was Lutheran by faith.

Todd was a proud veteran having served in the US Army, 66th Engineer Topographical Co. Corps, from 1951 1953, stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, at the end of WWII and the Korean Conflict.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Grand Lodge of F&AM Pilgrim Lodge 691, a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Steubenville, the Osiris Director Staff, the Northern Panhandle Shrine Club, the Hillbilly Unit #8, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1276 of Toronto and #4089 of Port Orange, FL, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 688, the American Legion Post #86, the National VFW and VFW Post #3282 of Port Orange, FL and a member of the Steubenville PAC.

Visitation for Todd will be held on Thursday, April 30 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. His funeral service will be held on Friday, May 1 at the funeral home at 11:30 am. There will be Masonic Services for Todd on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm and following his funeral service on Friday the Toronto American Legion will provide Military Honors at the funeral home. There will be no graveside service.
