Anna Marie (Rock) Smith, 101, of Toronto, OH, passed away Sunday June 10, 2012 in Sienna Woods Nursing Center in Wintersville. Anna was born January 11, 1911 in Toronto, daughter of the late John and Josephine Petras Rock. Anna was a member of St. Francis Church, the C.W.C. of the Church and a former member of St. Joseph Byzantine Church in Toronto. She loved to play the piano and the harmonica and especially liked to play church music. She loved to play bingo, cards and pennies with her sisters. She worked for the WPA during the depression and later for an attorney in Steubenville, OH. She became a full time housewife when the children were born. In addition to her parents Anna was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Zdinak Smith, whom she married in 1939 and who passed away on June 7, 2002; also by her sisters, Wilma Sabol and Sister Leona Rock and by brothers John, Edward, William and Robert Rock. Surviving are her children, David (Donna) Smith of Toronto, Robert (Jill) Smith of home, Richard (Mary Ann) Smith of Wellsville, and Paula Smith (husband Bud deceased) of Sagamore Hills, OH; her sister Dorothy "Dot" Marker of Toronto, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 13, 2012 from 4 to 8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto. Visitation will take place Thursday morning from 9 to 9:45 am at St. Francis Church on Findley St., followed by Anna's Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 am. Father Thomas Vennitti will Celebrate her Mass and burial will follow in Island Creek Cemetery. Vigil Service will be on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
