Arlene A. (Belford) Sweda, 88, of Mingo Jct., OH, passed away Friday March 14, 2025, in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.

Arlene was born Nov. 25, 1936, in Steubenville, daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Cortez) Belford.

She retired from the former Ohio Valley Hospital, where she worked as a Pharmacy Tech. Arlene was Catholic by faith. Over the years, she helped with the Boy Scouts and served on their committee.

In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her stepfather, Vendal Gombarcek, and nephew, Christhoper Grigbsy.

Surviving is her husband, Thomas A. Sweda of home; daughter, Barbara (Gerry) Gross of Cumberland, OH; two sisters, Carol (Richard) Fornal and Margaret Barrett, both of Steubenville, OH.

Arlene is in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Her wishes were to be cremated, with no services observed. www.jefosterfh.com
