Obituary

Arrua Jane (Hope) Bigler, 90, of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday April 5, 2025, in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Jane was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Steubenville, daughter of the late Pearly R. and Dorothy M. (Wood) Hope.

Jane was a 1952 graduate of Steubenville High School. After graduating she continued her education at the Ohio Valley School of Nursing, becoming a nurse in 1955 and working in the Emergency Room there for several years.

She continued her career as an Industrial Nurse at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. After the mill, Jane worked as a nurse at the former Jefferson Technical College. While there she wrote their Alma Mater.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Bill and Bob Hope.

Jane is survived by her husband of 52 years, Frank Bigler, whom she married Aug. 22, 1973; her children, Janie (Utzler) Bigler, Linda Utzler, Janet (Bigler) Thompson, Mark (Karen) Bigler and Tom (Brenda) Bigler; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Jane will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, followed by her service at 1 PM. Rev. Frank Rogers will officiate, and burial will follow in the Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH.
