Barbara Marie Karavas, 85, of Steubenville, OH, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in the Carriage Inn of Steubenville.Barbara was born August 16, 1928 in Toronto, OH, daughter of the late Steve and Lottie Sembar Karavas.She was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto and she was a 1948 graduate of Toronto High School.In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sister Katherine and her husband Sam Visnic, her brother Donald "Bunny" Karavas and her nephew Sammy Visnic of NJ.Barbara is survived by her sister Connie Stagani of Toronto, OH; nephews Dan (Colleen) Stagani of Pittsburgh, PA, Robert (Jo Ann) Stagani of Richmond, OH; nieces Stephanie Visnic of Pittsurgh, Christine (Steve) Lazarowicz of Florida and Debra Visnic of NJ; great-nephews Steve (Erica) Visnic, Scott (Hana) Visnic both of NJ; Gregory and Tyler Stagani of Richmond; great-niece Ashley Stagani of Toronto, OH.Friends will be received on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 5-8pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto, OH. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass for Barbara will be held on Friday at 10am at St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto with Fr. Thomas Vennitti serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. Family and friends will gather Friday morning at the funeral home at 9:15am.
