Emma Belle Johnson, 97, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Saturday March 1, 2014 in the Gable Care Center in Hopedale, OH.Belle was born Feb. 4, 1917 in Marmet, WV, daughter of the late Emery B. and Annabelle Caraway.Belle was a homemaker and a member of the Weems Chapel for many years where she served as Superintendent, Pianist and Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Woman's Club, Homemakers, Dames of Malta and Pomona Grange.In addition to her parents, Belle was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Johnson in May 1998 and her daughter Karlene Daly in March 2011.Surviving is her son Carl (Norma Jean) Johnson of Smithfield; two granddaughters, Lori (David) Dodds and Patricia (Denny) Czuchran all of Smithfield; two grandsons, Carl Johnson Jr. and D'Wayne (Leslie) Johnson also all of Smithfield; seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.Visitation will take place on Wednesday March 5, 2014 from 4-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev.
