Bernard Francis Keenan, 72, of Bloomingdale, formerly of Toronto, passed away Monday at the TrinityWestMedicalCenter surrounded by his children and grandchildren after a short illness.He was born May 13, 1933 in Steubenville, son of the late Eugene and Ann Hrichak Keenan. Bernard was a retired employee of Timet-Titanium Corp., where he was a Forge Dept. Foreman with 37 years of service.He was also a veteran of the Korean War where he served with the Marines.Bernard was an avid fisherman and an outdoorsman. In addition to his parents Bernard was preceded in death by two grandchildren; Jarrod Keenan Grimes and Jamie Prokopakis.He is survived by his former wife, Charlene Zeigler Keenan of Bloomingdale, and his 8 children; James (Susan) Keenan of Amsterdam; Robert Keenan, Richard (Anita) Keenan, Patricia (Ron) Grimes, Kelly (John) Prokopakis all of Bloomingdale; Charles Keenan of Bergholz; Suzanne (Rod) Brenstuhl of Amsterdam; and Dawn (Ron) Pugh of Richmond; two sisters, Dee Burkett of Toronto; Cecelia (John Spook') Phillipson of Toronto; two brothers, Eugene (Pat) Keenan of Steubenville; and Joseph (Phyllis) Keenan of Toronto. Bernard is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-5pm and 7-9pm with a Vigil service at 8:45pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St., Toronto, OH43964.The funeral service will be on Thursday at 10am at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Greco presiding.The family has asked that memorial contributions may be made to the East Springfield VFD P.O. Box 146, East Springfield, OH 43925.
