Betty Jean (Walker) Holliday, 89, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Sunday, February 05, 2012 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.Betty was born November 29, 1922 in Plum Run, OH, daughter of the late Howard "Red" and Lois S. (DeLong) Walker. Betty was a member of the Smithfield Christian Church and a 1941 graduate of Smithfield High School. She was a devoted wife, mother and a wonderful cook and baker.In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, David C. Holliday who passed in 2003 and her brother Charles Walker.Betty is survived by her loving son, David D. "Doc" and his wife Betty Holliday of Wintersville, OH; her loving daughter Doreen and her husband Hank Leimkuehler of Smithfield, OH. Two grandchildren will miss their Grandma, Shana French and Sean Holliday. Betty is also survived by two sisters, Linda and her husband Thomas Borkowski of Kirtland, OH and Mabel Westbrook of LeHigh Acres, FL. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, February 7 from 4-7pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH where her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11am with the Rev. Wilford Simeral officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH. Memorial donations may be made in Betty's memory to Valley Hospice 10686 St. Rt. 150 Rayland, OH 43943.
