Betty E. Rood, 97, of Toronto, OH passed peacefully on Tuesday Sept. 26, 2023, at her home.

Betty was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Hocking Port, OH, to the late Neff and Fluella (Fulton) Norman.

She graduated from Carthage-Troy High School in 1943, where she participated in the Glee Club, Latin Club, Scholastic, and even track!

She married John R. Rood on Oct. 13, 1945. Betty was a wife, mother, homemaker, grandma, great-grandma, and a faithful servant to the Lord.

In addition to her parents and husband John, Betty was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Donna Rood, and son, James W. Rood.

Surviving are her children, Jeannette Rood and John (Karen) Rood both of Toronto; grandchildren, Megan (Alex) Myer of Tuscarawas, OH, and Joseph (Allie) Rood of Munhall, PA; great-grandchildren, Colton and Kacey Myer and Westyn Rood.

To know Betty was to love and cherish her. Her Legacy will always live on in all those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, from 11 am to 1 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Bettys funeral service will follow at 1 pm with Megan Myer, granddaughter, providing the eulogy. A private burial will take place Monday in the Sugar Grove Cemetery in Toronto.
