Betty Jean Ruttencutter, 81, of Bloomingdale, OH, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025.

Betty was born June 22, 1943, in Salt Run, OH, daughter of the late William 'Bill' and Jessie Mae (Wilburn) Matthews. She was also preceded in death by her husband John, sister Joyce Rine, and brother Ronald Matthews.

In her earlier years she was an office manager for US Bank. Betty was also a member of the Smithfield Methodist Church.

Betty leaves behind her children, Jon (Shirley) of Wintersville, Jay of Bloomingdale and Stacey (Rosell) Dixon of Columbus, OH; sister, Dorothy Dehnart of Indiana; brothers, Calvin Matthews of St. Clairsville, OH, David Matthews of Wintersville, OH, and Donald (Donna) Matthews of Washington, PA; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 13 from 10 AM to 1 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH. Betty's service will follow at 1 PM with Pastor Shaun Ford and burial in the New Alexandria Cemetery.
