Burk Emery, 70, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday Aug. 7, 2014 in Trinity Med. Center West in Steubenville, OH. Burk was born Aug. 23, 1943 in Toronto, son of the late Herbert and Ulah May Davis Emery. Burk was retired from First Energy Corp. W.H. Sammis plant in Stratton, OH, where he worked for 34 years retiring as a yard foreman. He was a 1961 graduate of Toronto High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Lisa Emery on Feb. 1, 2014. Surviving is his wife Eileen Deatrice (Campbell) Emery, whom he married on Aug. 23, 1963; his two sons, Robert Burk Emery of Empire, OH and Jeffrey Chad Emery of Longwood, FL; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes. Inc. 701 Findley St. in Toronto where a Celebration of Burk's life will be held on Monday at 11 am. Pastor and neighbor Roger Burdick will celebrate his life. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to: Trinity T.E.A.R.
