Carl J. Cihon Sr. 83 of Piney Fork, Ohio passed away Friday May 20, 2005 in the Kindred Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. Carl was born Jan. 25, 1922 in Piney Fork, son of the late Andrew and Mary Dragos Cichon. Carl was retired from Consol Coal Co.; and was a Meat Cutter for the Co-Op Stores for many years. He is a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Piney Fork, The Piney Fork American Legion Post# 735, The Pine Valley Sportsman's Club and the AARP.Carl was a U.S. Navy Veteran of W.W. II. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two sisters; Clara Jablonski and Wanda Smith. Surviving are; his wife of 58 years Mary Truini Cihon, whom he married on Nov. 9, 1946; one son; Carl J. ( Debi ) Cihon Jr. of Smithfield, two daughters; Pam (Keith) Berry of Dillonvale and Maria (Brian) Parteli of Rayland. 11 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. Two sisters; Toni Baumgartner of Oregon,Ohio and Mary Agnes (Richard) Francisco of Las Vegas, NV. Three Brothers; Walter Cichon of Dillonvale, Henry ( Evelyn ) Cichon of Adena and Robert (Theresa ) Cichon of Piney Fork. Friends and family may call at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc. 107 Hill St. Smithfield on Saturday evening from 6- 9 pm. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7 -9 pm. On Monday friends and family may call at St. Therese Church in Piney Fork from 10:00 am. up til time of the Funeral Liturgy with Mass which is at 11:00 am. Father Timothy Kozak will be the Celebrant and burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens. Vigil service will be on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 pm. Full Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by the Piney Fork American Legion Post #735.
