Carol F. Davenport, 76, of Toronto, Ohio formally of the Hopedale area passed away Tuesday March 16, 2010 in the Laurels of Steubenville.Carol was born March 4, 1934 in Unionport, Ohio, daughter of the late Ralph and Stella Burchfield Greer. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Hopedale American Legion Ladies Aux. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Garnett Davenport in 1988 and by her daughter Verna Angel in 1989 and her brother Donald Greer.Surviving is her companion James O. Hill of Toronto, her son Zane (Valli K.) Davenport of Cadiz, her daughter Trina ( Russell ) Powell of New Martinsville, W.Va., her step-family James Hill of Weirton, Diane (Roger) Woodrum of Smithfield, Pam (Frank) Larkins of Toronto and Carrie and her fiancAC. Dave Oliver of Weirton. Her sisters, Margie Vanchure of Colerain and Dolores (Bob) James of Dennison, her brothers, Larry (Edith) Greer of Dover and Ralph "Lamoine" (Donna) Greer of Lewisville, Ohio. 6 grandsons, 11 step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Friends and family may call on Thursday from 4-8 pm. at the Smithfield Funeral Home of J. E. Foster, 107 Hill St. Smithfield, Ohio; where services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am.
