Carol M. Sherwood, 75, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the ER of Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.Carol was born July 19, 1938 in Steubenville, daughter of the late Claude J. and Mary Jeanne (Hommel) Davis. She was a member of the North River Ave. Christian Church in Toronto, the Toronto Sunrise Seniors and a graduate of Toronto High School Class of 1956. Carol retired from Titanium Metals in Toronto where she worked as a Lab Tech. She also was a former Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John Davis and two sisters, Martha Parsons and Claudia Chaney. Carol leaves behind her husband, Paul C. Sherwood, whom she married June 29, 1957; her children, son, Douglas P. (Mary Ellen) Sherwood of Toronto, Daughter Robin D. (Tom) Yuenger of Gahanna, OH, and her daughter Debra L. Walker of Rockland, CA; her sister Harriet (Bob) Schumard of Toronto. Carol also leaves behind her eight grandchildren, Shawn (Mary Beth) Sherwood, Anna (Brad) Saylor, Jeremy Sherwood, Nathan and Valerie Yuenger, Alex, Jordan and Melissa Walker; five great-grandchildren, James, Braleigh, Ethan, Ty and Zoe.Visitation for Carol will be held on Sunday, March 23 from 12-3 and 5-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. There will be additional visitation on Monday from 10 am til time of service at 11. Pastor Susan Clegg will officiate her service and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made in memory of Carol to Alzheimer's Association, Greater East Ohio Area Chapter 70 W.
