Charles J. Estep, 75, of Pittsfield, MA, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

Charles was born, January 15, 1940 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Sylvester Sy and Helen Kolodziej Estep.

He is survived by his wife, Marcella Carfagna Estep, whom he married on Sept. 19, 1964.

Charles was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pittsfield, MA.

He graduated from CCHS Class of 1958 and St. Francis Grade School in Toronto. He received his Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from the University of Steubenville.

Charles was employed as a chief electrical engineer for General Electric and General Dynamics Corp. in Pittsfield.

He enjoyed volunteering for the Berkshire Scenic Railway as Treasurer and conductor. He also volunteered at the Berkshire Humane Society and the Academic Decathlon Program at Pittsfield High School and various community projects through the Elfun Society. He enjoyed biking, cross country skiing, softball and bridge.

He is survived by his three sisters, Barbara Crawford of Rogers, OH, Janet (John) Olesky and Mary Ann (David) Huff of Toronto; one sister-in-law, Fausta Carfagna (Stephano) Fufino of Rome, Italy; three nieces, five nephews and four great-nephews.

A Funeral Liturgy with Mass for Charles will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 11 am at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, OH. There will be an hour of visitation in the rear of the church from 10 am til time of the Mass. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, OH.

Charles arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH.
