Charles F. "Charlie" Ward, 65, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long courageous battle with lung cancer.Charlie was born January 3, 1947 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Edwin and Betty Haney Ward.Charlie was retired from the former Weirton-Steel Corp. where he worked in the Tin Mill; he was a member of the North River Ave. Christian Church in Toronto, a graduate of Toronto High School class of 1966, member of Toronto Band Parents and PTO.In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded death by his brother, Mark S. Ward (2012); mother-in-law Jane Wallace (2011) and his brother-in-law Brian C. Wallace (2008).Charlie is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tresa L. (Wallace) Ward of home whom he married on Sept. 14, 1991; his daughter Charlyn M.G. Ward of the home and her boyfriend Luke J. Martaus also of Toronto; sister Eddy Gayle (Buzz) Maffett and his brother Todd (Vickie) Ward all of Toronto; sister-in-law Lisa (Wallace) McFadden of Toronto; two brother-in-laws, Mark Wallace and his companion Cindy and Pete Wallace all of Columbus, OH; his nieces and nephews, Guy Scott (Corie) Maffett, Shannon (Faith) Maffett, Markolyn and Zach Wallace, Mackenzie and Madison Wallace, Mackenna, Haylee and Ryan Jacob McFadden. Charlie also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews.Visitation for Charlie will be Sunday, Oct. 21 from 1-3 and 5-7pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH where his funeral service will be held on Monday at 12pm with Rev. Robert Hanze officiating. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the TEAR Fund at Teramana Cancer Center or to the Toronto Band Parents.Charlie's family would like to extend a special thank you to Susan Miller with the Teramana Cancer Center.
