Charles E. Williams, 87, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Mingo Jct., OH, passed away Saturday Dec. 1, 2012 in the Leesburg Regional Medical Center. Charles was born Nov. 3, 1925 in Kenna, WV, son of the late Holly and Dovie Ray Williams.Charles was a retired truck driver for Weir-Cove Moving and Storage in Weirton. He was Catholic by faith and a member of the Leesburg V.F.W. Charles was an awarded Navy veteran serving his country during WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor Louise (Brehm) Williams in 1987; his son-in-law James Hargrove; his grandson Jimmie Hargrove; several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his two daughters, Patricia Hargrove of Leesburg, FL and Brenda (James) Colabelli of Rayland, OH; his son Ray (Betty Jo) Williams of Steubenville, OH; his brother Delmar Williams and his sister Betty Bailey. Charles is also survived by 2 grandchildren Jimmy Colabelli and Melissa (Brent) Sobleski and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday morning at the funeral home at 10 am followed by a graveside committal service at 11 am at New Alexandria Cemetery. Msgr. John Kolesar will officiate the committal followed by Military Honors from the Piney Fork and Brilliant American Legion Posts. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
